Supportive listening
A psychotherapist is trained to listen carefully to your problems and to support you in discovering the reasons behind the way you are feeling. Together, you will work out solutions to transform the way you are feeling. The relationship is confidential and based on respect and trust.
People see psychotherapists for many different reasons. They may be struggling with problems such as challenging relationships or conflicts at work. They may be battling eating disorders, suffering from panic attacks, insomnia, stress or anxiety. Sometimes, there are no apparent reasons for the difficulty, and therefore, finding a solution all alone seems insurmountable.
Sorrow, pain, rejection, confusion, or anger may be a barrier to enjoyment of daily life. Feelings of despair and hopelessness may become overwhelming.
Ignoring emotional problems does not make them go away. The sooner we deal with them, the sooner we can return to having peace of mind and the happiness we know we can all have.
Psychotherapy helps you uncover reasons for negative feelings and how to manage those feelings. Understanding the reasons why you feel as you do, will help you to take control of your life and learn how to handle these feelings when they arise in the future.
